The answer is, it depends. Normally, the air conditioning is on a timer. Italy like most of Europe has experienced extraordinary increases in energy bills and in order to ensure prices for the villa are acceptable we switch off the air conditioning after midnight and ask clients to experience the fresh sea air by opening windows to bedrooms. All the bedrooms have very effective mosquito coverings so no little fear of being bitten.
However, this being said another factor of modern life is climate change. In 2022 the area experienced temperatures in excess of 44 degrees celsius with still winds and scirocco. In these circumstances, we will of course have the AC on all day and night.
It is worth highlighting also that AC is at ambient temperatures and so in the height of Summer, the temperature in the villa remains around 24-25 degrees centigrade. We simply do not have AC systems that bring temperatures down to 19 degrees in the Summer. But then again if you want these temperatures, Summer in Sardinia may need be the best choice. In July/August expect temperatures to float around 30 degrees and much more!
